Pokémon Sun & Moon has just received a brand new patch for the game. Bringing the game up to Version 1.1, this patch will use up 296 blocks of your hard drive spaces on you 3DS. If you’re not wanting to patch your game, remember that you have to patch it to go online to participate in the events such as the Global Events and even battling.
Nintendo and Game Freak have announced that there will be a Battle Competition coming to Pokémon Sun & Moon in January. While the details on the competition, such as the restrictions, have yet to be announced – we do know that registration for the event will open on January 19th through January 26th. The battles themselves will run January 27th through January 28th. For those of you playing Pokémon Sun and Moon, there is currently a global mission going on as well. We all need your help reaching that goal.

Every so often Nintendo and Game Freak will host a global mission for everyone around the world to participate in. These missions can vary between catching Pokémon, taking pictures with the Pokéfinder, and more. This post will more or less serve as a guide to how you can get into these events in order to get the rewards from participating. The next Battle Competition for Pokémon Sun & Moon is now live. The competition is a Single Battle style and uses a unique set of rules. You can use all Pokémon that are currently available in Pokémon Sun & Moon. This does include Solgaleo, Lunala, Magearna, and even Ash-Greninja. The catch is, you can only use one of these special Pokémon in your team. There are also no items allowed. All entrants will receive 50 Battle Points (BP). This competition only runs December 16th through December 18th – get in on it while you can!
As with every generation of Pokémon games, we have at least two versions of the game. Pokémon Sun & Moon are no different. As such, there are exclusive Pokémon that you can’t catch in the other version. If you’re wanting to complete your PokéDex, you will have to find a friend or someone near you to trade – or venture to the online portion of the game to find those exclusive Pokémon you may need. Here, we will list every single version exclusive, and where to find them.
To coincide with today’s release of Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, Game Freak and Nintendo have released the Mythical Pokemon Magearna for you to downloaded to your copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. It comes with the ability Soul Heart which boosts its Sp. Atk stat every time a Pokémon faints. This ability is exclusive to Magearna. Magearna also has an uber powerful Fairy move called Fleur Cannon which is also exclusive to the Pokémon. For details on how to receive Magearna, keep reading after the jump!
The third and final movie from the Pokémon XY series is set to debut in America next week on Disney XD. You will have to check local listings for your time zone, it comes on 4 p.m. CST here.
