Pokémon Bank Gets Updated

The Pokémon Bank is now available for update on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This update introduces functionality for Pokémon Sun & Moon. It will require 496 blocks on your hard drive space – but it requires a complete re-download, not a “patch”. It also updates the Poké Transporter to Version 1.2 – which requires 420 blocks. This update has also added some really needed, awesome feature as well…

First off, The Pokémon Company has announced a special Z-Crystal for Mew, Mewnium Z. It will be available to Sun & Moon players who use the Bank until October 2nd, 2017. It has also been confirmed that the Mew obtained through glitches in the Generation 1 games will NOT transfer over.

In addition, Pokémon that get transferred from Generation 1 games will most likely have at least 3 max IV’s. Their nature will be random, but there is also a chance that the Pokémon will receive their Hidden Ability during the transfer. They will also receive a unique GameBoy mark in their profiles page.

Lastly, the one that makes me happy, is that you no longer have to trade every Pokémon over to your Pokémon Sun & Moon game for it to register in the Pokédex. The National Pokédex will sync with all the games you use the Bank with, listing all the Pokémon you have seen/caught in each game and combine them for your full National Pokédex. You also will not be able to trade Pokémon that you send to Sun and Moon back to other games – so keep that in mind while you are trading them over to Pokémon Sun & Moon!
