China Is A No Go For Pokémon Go

While Pokémon Go isn’t quite as popular as it was at launch, there are still fans all over the world awaiting it to be released in their area. China is potentially one of these places, but it looks like it’s going to be bad news for the Chinese population.

The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television state that they have “a high level of responsibility to national security and the safety of people’s lives and property”, needing to evaluate the game’s risks further. Citing geographical information security, transport, and personal safety of the consumers as potential threats from the game.

This is disheartening news for those in China, but hopefully Niantic and the Chinese Administration can come to some kind of middle ground to bring the wonderful world of Pokémon to China.
