After weeks of waiting, Niantic has finally announced the Pokémon Go Christmas event. While it’s not as spectacular as the Halloween event, in my opinion, it does however give players a little more motive to get out there and “Catch’em all.”
Starting on December 25th, 2016 through the afternoon of January 3rd, 2017 PokéStops will award one single-use Incubator each day for your first visit to a PokéStop. Your visits to these Pokéstops will give you an increased chance of finding an egg that may hatch one of the new Johto region Pokémon babies (ex. Togepi, Pichu, etc). In addition to this, the Festive Pikachu will also be staying around a while longer giving players an even greater chance to evolve it to a Festive Riachu.
Lastly, from the afternoon of December 30th through the afternoon of January 8th players will notice an increase of the first generation starter Pokémon and their evolutions while roaming around. Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise are the ones you will be able to find. To increase your chances of finding these, Niantic has also boosted the Lure Modules timeframe from 30 minutes to 60 minutes for this event.
